Legendary Items in Diablo Immortal can be Awakened, gaining Resonance to become even more powerful! In this article we cover how to Awaken your items, all the different mechanics involved and guide you towards the most powerful effect for the different classes. Let's begin!
The Legendary Gem must be upgraded to its maximum rank of 10 at the Apprentice Jeweler.
A Dawning Echo
These can only be bought at the in-game shop for 1.000 Eternal Orbs.
When you have all of that, visit the Master Jeweler, Vic, on the left side of Westmarch and select the item you want to Awaken. The process consumes the Dawning Echo and unlocks a new awakened Legendary Affix unique to the Awakened item. Only 1 item can be awakened per Legendary Gem and once an item is awakened, it will still stay that way forever. If you find any item upgrades, you can salvage the Awakened item at the Blacksmith to get your Dawning Echo and Gems back to then awaken the new upgrade.
Awakening an item gives you a powerful special affix depending on the Legendary you Awaken. You can only have 6 Legendary Items equipped, allowing a maximum of 6 Awakened effects. Here's what they all do:

The Awakening process also upgrades the item's appearance on your character and allows the item to gain Resonance.

These awakened Legendary Item effects can be very strong and in some cases build defining. Check out our Character Build Guides for more in-depth information on the individual classes.
Resonance
Once you have awakened a Legendary item with a Rank 10 Legendary Gem you can put more Legendary Gems into the item, boosting the item's Base Attribute Bonus by + 0.1% per rank. Furthermore, you unlock special powers at Resonance level 10 (Primary Attack damage increased by 3%) and level 20 (Skill damage increased by 2%). These special powers were all the same for every 1-Star Legendary Gem and item during beta.
A fully upgrade 1-Star Legendary Gem's Resonance Bonuses are:
Base Attribute Bonus increased by 2.0%
Primary Attack damage increased by 3%
Skill damage increased by 2%
A New Character Appearance
All original attributes of the Legendary Gem used for the Resonance process do not matter. You can take out the Legendary Gems anytime at the Master Jeweler without losing them.
The type and quantity of socketed Resonant Gems depends on the item's primary Legendary Gem! We only had access to Awakened 1-Star Legendary Gems during beta. It is likely that higher star gems have more stats and requirement costs! More info on that soon!
Resonance Effect of a 1-star Legendary Gem
Summary
Obtain as many Legendary Gems as possible. Always prioritize Rare and Legendary Crest as rewards.
Awakened Legendary Items have very powerful special effects.
Focus on Awakening a few 1-Star Legendary Gems first to unlock their special power.
The only way to awaken your items is to buy Eternal Orbs in the shop.
Resonance is a decent bonus but should not be your primary focus to gain power.
