Monk

General

The Monk comes dashing into Diablo Immortal with the power of 1,001 gods to deliver a devastating barrage of attacks against your enemies. Rapid strikes, shielding and the ability to gather enemies make the Monk an exciting class that excels in solo and group play. Below you'll find an overview of the skills available during the alpha test and the Legendary Inscriptions we've found so far.

Attributes

There are 5 Primary Attributes in the game: Strength, Intelligence, Fortitude, Vitality and Willpower. All of them provide 1 Offense and Defense Rating for each point you have, so any attributes gained will always make you stronger. With this in mind certain attributes help certain classes more than others, so let's see which ones seem to be the most beneficial for the Monk.

Monk Primary Attributes

#1 Fortitude - Provides increased Armor and Armor Penetration. Armor Penetration is critical for higher level content because without it you'll hit enemies for a fraction of what you used to. Armor is also helpful for the Monk as it's a melee class that is often right in the middle of enemies. Providing a big offensive and defensive boost for every point, this is likely the most important Primary Attribute for the Monk.

#2 Strength - Provides increased Damage to the Monk as we're a melee class. This will increase your damage significantly but will only get you so far if your Offensive Rating and Armor Penetration aren't high enough. Strength and Fortitude carry this class and should be your most sought after Primary Attributes by far.

#3 Vitality - Provides Life which is always good to have more of as dying sucks and the other 2 Attributes aren't that useful.

#4 Willpower - Provides Potency and Resistance. Potency is compared against enemy resistance to modify the duration of all harmful effects against monsters at your level. Resistance is compared to the Potency of enemies to reduce the duration of harmful effects on yourself. This stat helps the Monk survive against ailments however it doesn't provide much of an offensive boost for the class.

#5 Intelligence - Provides nothing additional beyond the 1 Offense and Defense Rating that the others also give. This is the worst Attribute for a Monk.

Focus on finding as much Fortitude and Strength on the gear you pick up and your damage and survivability should keep up as you progress through the game. There are also Secondary and Additional Attributes that apply to all classes which are explained briefly below and will be explained in detail in a future post.
