Paragon & Experience Overview

Introduction

The Paragon system allows you to further enhance your character by gaining bonus stats and unlocking unique Specialization Skills. You start gaining Paragon levels after hitting max level, which was level 55 in the Closed Beta (level 60 at release). Each level grants you one Paragon point to allocate into any open node. These points are only useable on the character that earned them and are not shared between characters on your account. Paragon points grant access to five different Paragon trees:

  1. Survivor - Unlocks at Paragon 1 and mainly grants defensive bonuses.
  2. Vanquisher - Unlocks at Paragon 1 and mainly grants offensive bonuses.
  3. Treasure Hunter - Unlocks at Paragon 50 grants Magic Find, Gold Find, and Experience (EXP) bonuses.
  4. Gladiator - Unlocks at Paragon 100 and is focused on Player vs Player (PvP) benefits.
  5. Soldier - Unlocks at Paragon 150 and provides amazing PvP & PvE bonuses for you and your group!
  6. Mastermind - Unlocks at Paragon 150 and provides strong buffs when playing with your teammates!

Each Paragon tree consists of two different types of nodes:

  • Persistent Attributes (Circles): Once learned, this attribute bonus is always applied to your character.
  • Specialization Skills (Squares): Once learned, this skill's bonus is applied only when the Paragon tree is active!

The player can select which paragon skill tree is active, so your first order of business is always have a Paragon tree activated! There can only be one Paragon tree active at one time and is easy to determine by a green checkmark on the main Paragon screen. Note: Paragon points can be saved for when you unlock a new tree to instantly assign multiple points for more skills and attributes.!

Gladiator

Soldier

Mastermind

Survivor

Grants defensive bonuses, making you tougher.

Recommendation

The Survivor tree offers better benefits early on for all classes. Save this tree for later if you are a melee character like Barbarian, Monk and Crusader to survive longer in the battlefield. Usually you want to skip Stalwart and go straight into Indestructible into Damage.

Server Paragon Level

Diablo Immortal introduces a system called Server Paragon Level (SPL). At launch, SPL will start at Paragon level 0 and increased by 2 levels per day at server reset. Your current Paragon level is compared to the SPL and experience bonuses or penalties are applied to you.

Below Server Paragon Level

If you are 1 or more Paragon levels below the Server Paragon level, you gain an every increasing experience bonus buff. This is meant to help you catch up to the SPL quickly.

On Server Paragon Level

If you are at the Server Paragon level, you get 100%, the normal amount of experience.

Above Server Paragon Level

If you are above the Server Paragon level, your experience gains are gradually reduced. This is to avoid certain players gaining too much of an advantage with runaway Paragon gains.

Paragon Scaling

Just like in Diablo 3, early Paragon levels are easy to come by in Diablo Immortal. In the BETA, Paragon experience required per level starts at around 2 million experience points per level. This value scales up until stopping completely at Paragon level 16, which requires 3,500,000 experience points per level. Efficient players can farm over 4 million experience per hour, and gain more than one Paragon level in that time while being equal to Server Paragon level. Here is a full list of each Paragon level and the required experience.

Paragon Experience Farming

During the BETA Paragon did NOT offer significant power increases to your character! However, Paragon is one of the few high scaling progression systems in the game and awards you with access to higher level Equipment and Set Items. After you are done Upgrading all your gear to max rank, farming Paragon is still beneficial, especially the Paragon 150 Gladiator tree for Player vs Player.

Now that we’ve covered all the Paragon trees, let’s learn how to farm experience effectively:

  • Play in Groups
Group play gives awesome synergies that allow you to maximize damage output, clear high content faster, die less due to toughness buffs from your party members, and split farm effectively. Some of the best areas to farm are Library of Zoltun Kulle and Dungeons like Mad King's Breach, Forgotten Tower or Caverns of Echoes.
  • Split Farming
In groups you can split farm effectively. With a good group character composition and dedicated tasks for each class, you can reach new heights! The fastest classes should be flying ahead to activate events, the AoE focused characters should destroy the monster density, and the boss killers should prepare BEFORE the boss spawns to erase it out of existence immediately!
  • Never Stay in Town
Town is Lava - Townsfolk don’t give experience, Gold, and crafting materials away for free! Be fast with your town rotation. Place potential useful items in your stash, and identify in bulk to reduce town time even further.
  • Join Voice with Your Group
Communicate, sync your breaks, and plan a schedule ahead of time.
  • Follow the Current EXP META
There are big differences in classes and builds that are played. Look for good group synergies!
  • Maximize Your Battle Pass Every Week
Your Battle Pass is capped at 2,400 points per week and grants you additional experience points whenever you rank it up (180 points for a bulk of the ranks). This can increase your EXP per hour by roughly 40%.
  • Turn in the Bestiary whenever you can
Once you have collected 10 Monstrous Essence, turn in your Bestiary to gain additional experience! Can do this multiple times a day and also has a chance to give you a Legendary item!
  • Pay Attention to Massacre Bonuses
Massacre bonuses grant additional experience points for killing multiple monsters continuously and quickly. On top of this, killing Elites and Bosses vastly increases the experience points the massacre would otherwise give you. You know a kill streak is active when a “burning rope” prompt displays how long you have to at least HIT another monster to keep the streak alive. Not all Dungeons and Zones are made the same regarding keeping a massacre bonus alive. Some areas are easy, others will require coordination and/or "holding" a monster alive to keep the bonus alive. The highest massacre bonus you can reach is 100. Be sure to check our Dungeon Guide for more in-depth information.
  • Never Forget - Enjoy the Game
You will play way more and automatically get Paragon levels when you enjoy what you do!
